Our Chief Electrical Engineer is responsible and accountable for systematic and consistent completion engineering projects which will include the supervision and management of people, resources, and clients for the mutual success of our clients, department, and company.
Responsibilities include coordination, communication, and enforcement of company and department processes, procedures, and standards and the promotion of company culture and core values.
Duties and responsibilities
Project and Team:
Manage projects, oversee and delegate tasks, and engage in design of projects
Represent our company in communications with clients for assigned projects regularly throughout the entire project and in marketing activities after project completion
· Collaborate with Engineering Director on strategic approaches to address project design.
Implement effective communication, performance management, as well as identify strategic skills needed to achieve company, department, team, and project goals.
Technical mentoring of in-house design engineers and designers
Technical:
Serve as an Engineer of Record
Designs electrical systems for commercial, municipal, shell and tenant improvements, restaurant and office buildings to meet local and state code requirements
Works with an experienced group of architects, designers and engineers to prepare building electrical plans and specifications
Designs the modeling and analysis of power distribution systems, the design of life safety systems, the design and modeling of lighting and associated control systems, and coordination with the other design professionals
Responsible and accountable for coordination, input, and enforcement of all technical aspects and policies of the department and company
Sign and seal calculations, specifications and plans you oversee and are responsible for
Analyze complex technical problems and devise new or improved techniques, approaches, and alternative solutions
Provide quality control/quality assurance consistent with company and department standards and the requirements of our clients and regulatory agencies
Required qualifications include:
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering (ABET Accredited Electrical Engineering Degree)
Current PE License
NCEES Registration (Preferred)
LEED, RCDD, CEM, or LC (Preferred)
7+ years of engineering/industry experience with demonstrated team management experience
Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD MEP, MS Office Suite, or SKM highly desired
Expertise in applying building codes, in particular the National Electrical Code
Self-motivated, engaged, and team-oriented with the ability to work independently under minimal supervision
Strong leadership and project management skills as well as excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills
