What your job will be like:
Jefferson Lab seeks a Quality Engineer to develop, implement, improve, and maintain the SRF Quality Management System while adhering to DOE contract requirements and Lab needs. Are you ready to lead the design and development of performance measures and efficient work processes while ensuring compliance with ISO 9001 and all appropriate laws/regulations? In this role you will:
Serve as SRF Quality subject matter expert and lead for Quality related improvement activities;
Lead SRFOPS ISO9001:2015 certification activities and serve as owner for all Quality Processes to include NCR, Internal Audit and Corrective Action.
Champion Quality Board, Quality Steering Committee meetings and Management Review, including action item follow up.
Quality Training of SRFOPS staff with a communication plan for Quality related issues within SRF, including metrics and their relevance.
Perform data analysis for the purpose of improving quality and process.
Provide SRF Quality support for Cryomodule design and build projects, make presentations to key lab management, and prepare final documentation product shipped (Cryomodule).
Serve as SRF Quality liaison to partnering labs to organize, coordinate and/or provide timely information that is within the project scope
Provide vendor Quality support to SRF Projects, including assessment of effectiveness and ability to meet work scope requirements. Proactively identify and mitigate issues which may cause schedule impacts.
Translates work needs of others into updates and implementation of policy and procedure manuals.
Qualifications We Require:
Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Applied Science, or relevant field
Experience:
10+ years of quality management and manufacturing engineering experience leading ISO9001:2015 or equivalent certified Quality Management Systems
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
Extensive ISO 9001:2015 knowledge and experience in industry, which may include other Assessment and Auditing experience,
Laws, regulations and ordinances as they affect JLab and the DOE
Experience with Quality tools, including fishbone diagrams, histograms, Pareto charts, Root Cause Analysis, 5 Why and similar problem-solving techniques
In addition to standard Computer Skills with EXCEL, Word etc, must be computer savvy, so as to be able to extract data as needed from existing JLAB Software & tools
Able to effectively train people outside his/her work group
Able to give effective presentations to critical/high level customers and effectively represent work group on review panels and cross-organizational teams
Ability to write convincing proposals and reports with all necessary backup material for external consumption
Qualifications We Desire:
Internal Auditing experience, preferably as an ISO9001:2015 Certified Lead auditor.
Additional Quality Certifications are a Plus (examples could be ASQ CQE, CMQ/OE etc).
