Zona is looking for a BIM Coordinator who can contribute to the overall design of the firm’s MEP systems. This role will perform BIM model/background set ups, Revit template creation, Revit family creation, 3D modeling, and design using Revit and AutoCAD applications.
We are looking for an innovative person who can lead the vision and implementation of BIM technology, process, tools, and standards for this program. In this role, the BIM Coordinator will set standards, create systems, and drive new processes. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment and has a deep passion for developing and implementing standards, tools, and processes.
General Responsibilities
Utilize the architectural model to create workspaces for MEP Designers to develop the building systems
Investigate and learn new software and technology to improve design deliverables, reduce cost and drive efficiency
Assist in preparing design and bid documents, phasing drawings, as-built drawings, and construction sketches
Develop and vision ways that our firm can use the BIM information within Autodesk Revit to make our product better and enhance project delivery
Develop BIM related processes to be approved by the engineers
Coordinate with client/consultant BIM managers
Educate the staff on new features and processes relating to BIM software. Lead inter-office Autodesk User group meetings
Required Skills, Experience, and Qualifications
Two-year certificate from college or technical school in Drafting/Design or two years of exceptional experience as a Drafter/Designer is preferred.
2-3 years of AutoCAD and Revit experience. Experience in Revit and BIM management at an A/E firm or Contractor is preferred.
In-depth working knowledge of Revit, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, BIM 360, and a skilled user of digital technology tools
Demonstrate a basic understanding of accurate drafting methods, layering, X-References, dimensioning, model space/paper space, viewports, and scaling
Strong time management and organizational skills
Ability to manage priorities and projects with minimal guidance
Ability to project a positive and professional image to coworkers, employees, vendors, and established and prospective customers
Strong work ethic, team player, enthusiastic with a willingness to learn.
